We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing a thriving ceramics community, with a focus on connecting people through education, resources, and support.
Board members provide oversight to ensure that Claymakers’ actions are in alignment with our mission and vision. At Claymakers, the Board of Directors is instrumental in uniting the diverse voices within our community and plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization's long-term sustainability. Board members are also our most valuable ambassadors, increasing Claymakers’ reach through their connections in the wider community. Recruitment for the board occurs twice a year, and we are currently looking for talented folks like you!
Skills & Experience We are Seeking
We're currently seeking board members with expertise in:
Real Estate/Property Development: Help us plan for our permanent home
Accounting/Finance: Support our financial oversight and planning
Human Resources: Strengthen our organizational capacity
Fundraising: Develop and implement our resource development plan
Grant Writing: Expand our funding sources
Legal Expertise: Guide us in nonprofit governance and compliance
While these skills are particularly valuable, we welcome all passionate individuals who can contribute to our mission. Diverse perspectives and experiences strengthen our organization.

Strengthening Our Internal Operating Capacity: Developing sustainable operations, fostering a healthy work environment, and planning for our permanent home.
Building Community Through the Clay Arts: Maintaining programming excellence, developing strategic partnerships, and creating connections with broader communities.
Leveraging Awareness for Support: Expanding our visibility and developing a culture of giving to support our mission.

Board Member Commitments:
-Board members serve three-year terms
-Expect to contribute at least 4 service hours per month
-Attend bi-monthly board meetings (2nd Monday evenings)
-Participate in 1-2 committees
-Make a personally meaningful annual contribution
-Leverage your professional skills and networks
-Attend occasional Claymakers events
